CVE-2022-2586Linux kernel — a firewall object outliving its table

A netfilter object could reference a set belonging to a different table, and deleting that table left the reference pointing at freed memory. A local attacker turns it into full privileges, and exploit code is public.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Update the kernel to your distribution's fixed build — Ubuntu shipped it across USN-5557 and the notices that followed — and review who may configure netfilter rules.
