CVE-2022-40799D-Link video recorder — unchecked backup config runs commands

The affected D-Link recorder firmware (DNR-322L 2.60B15 and earlier) restores a backup configuration without checking its integrity, so a signed-in user has operating system commands run on the device. It is end-of-life.

YOUR NEXT MOVE

Replace the recorder — it is end-of-life and no fix is coming; until then keep it off routable networks and restrict who can sign in at all.
